A big welcome to all of my lovely followers and visitors to my little space in the crafting world of blogland! I love colouring, drool over every embellishment and love to 'look' at papers (never mind using them) - some are just TOO good to use lol. I hope you enjoy your little wander through my creative world and would love to feel that I may have inspired some of you in some small way. Happy Crafting to you all and I hope you will stop by again soon!

Tiddly Inks Summer Challenge

Goodness me!! Nothing like leaving things 'til the last minute!!

Being the indecisive person that I am, I couldn't decide on which gorgeous image to use for the Tiddly Inks 'Summer' Challenge!  At first I thought I'd post my sepia couple card - but then thought maybe not as I wasn't sure it was summery enough!  Then I brightly coloured in another image - only to find it seemed a bit TOO bright for my liking!  At last, this afternoon, I decided on this little cutie - 'Fluttering by to say Hi'.  Phew!!!  Butterflies and flowers shout out 'SUMMER' to me and so I thought this would be perfect :)

009

I've coloured her in my favourite colour combo - turquoise & lilac - using promarkers & spectrum noirs.  The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts and the bow I made from netting, which I bought from my local fabric shop.

Unfortunately, the pic hasn't come out as clear as I would have liked (due to lack of daylight on finishing my little project) - serves me right for taking so long :)!!  I'm kinda liking the shadows which have been cast though - I can pretend the sun was shining hee hee!!

Well, I'm so sorry this is a not so detailed post, however, I'm super worried I'm going to be too late to enter the challenge by the time I've babbled on!

Hope you like & thank you so much for popping by!
Hugs

First Sepia Attempt

Good evening all!

Well, what a very exciting/hectic 24 hours we've just had!  We are the very proud owners of two bearded dragons, Max & Tilly who, incidentally, mated back in April!  Last month, Tilly's 11 eggs from her first clutch hatched - of which we are also the proud owners of - and her second clutch began hatching yesterday and all 10 of them are perfect and adorable :o) My eldest daughter & son-in-law have adopted the new batch!  Obviously, as they get older we will be finding suitable homes for them but, in the meantime, they are being nurtured and adored by us! Think I may find it a toughie when they finally have to 'spread their wings' so I am making the most of them whilst I have them :o)

Well, I just thought I'd share my first ever sepia attempt with you!  I got the adorable digi image from Tiddly Inks and, as the card was for a wedding with a brown/cream colour theme, thought I'd give the sepia a go!  I really enjoyed colouring this one up and creating different tones of browns for the embellishments using my inks, promarkers and card from my stash. I inked the doily & lace as they were originally white!  It was also the first time I have attempted distressing the edges of the papers! I didn't have a super duper tool to use - just scraped the edges of my scissors down the sides!  Probably not the greatest idea but, hey, it kinda worked ;o)

The lace, heart doily and flowers were all from Wild Orchid Crafts.

Thank you so much for stopping by and I wish each and every one of you a fabulous weekend!

Martini Pin Up Girl

Good morning all!

Today I thought I'd share with you an 8" x 8" card I made using a digital stamp from www.papercraftplanet.com/group/sassystudiodesigns called Martini Pin-Up.  Their stamps are just so chic and sassy - I had so much fun colouring this one up!

016

I used promarkers to colour her up and glazed the glass to give it that 3d effect.  The glaze is fantastic stuff - really makes the whole image 'pop'.

I enlarged the olives then printed, coloured & cut them out to add the age.  These were also glazed.

All in all, I thoroughly enjoyed making this card and the recipient was super impressed when she received it *phew* :o)

Materials I used:

Promarkers
Papers from my stash
Hair flower from wildorchidcrafts.com/
3d Crystal Laquer from www.joannasheen.com/
Pearl adhesive gems from www.joannasheen.com/
Bow made out of ribbon from my stash

Thank you so much for stopping by ................... hope you have a fabulous day :o) xx

Monday 20 August 2012

Ooooh! I'm super excited this morning! Not only is the sun shining ...... I've also won a fantastic gift certificate from Make It Crafty of the 60's girlfriends collection!  Cannot wait to start colouring these beauties up!  The card I put forward for the competition was one using their beautiful 'Fairy House'.  I coloured it up with promarkers, glazed the toadstools to give a bit of dimension, added a Caron Vinson 3d decoupage fairy & added a little toadstool charm :o) The digital images on their site are out of this world ....... I need all of them ...... seriously!!

Here's my little creation - hope you like! xx

Thank you for looking - have a great day! xx

70th Celebration

It was my Mum's 70th birthday recently and, to give her a keepsake for this special celebration, I made her an 8" x 8" framed card using one of the adorable saturated canary images called Fancy!  Krista Smith, the designer of these beautiful digi stamps, was kindly offering Fancy as a freebie.

My Mum is one of THE most precious people in my life and, as the sentiment states, she is absolutely Beautiful both Inside and Out :o)

Happy 70th Birthday Mum - you're truly one in a million <3
